We believe strongly that safety is an integral part of quality service. We believe further that safety is everyone's job. Our commitment begins with our Chairman and characterizes our approach down the line. Among other things, this belief has led to the creation of our Corporate Safety Council that is composed of senior management. The committee's charge is to conduct in-depth, bi-monthly safety reviews of a selected division's operations. The program has led to the sharing of "best practices" company-wide and a safety record that is industry-renowned.

A key component of our safety program is DuPont's acclaimed STOP™ process. Further, we have developed practices in conjunction with Liberty Mutual Insurance's Managing Vital Performance® (MVP) process, to identify tasks that have been high risk and then to develop task-specific observations to address the associated hazards. MVP results in targeted observations and specific safety training for critical work activities. The DuPont program coupled with MVP provides a synergistic, behavior-based safety approach that fortifies the traditional training that all employees receive on safety compliance, hazard recognition, and prevention. As our first core value, safety is our most important concern.
